We have a once in a generation opportunity to ensure LGBTIQ+ people in NSW can live a life free from discrimination and harm.

The Equality Legislation Amendment (LGBTIQA+) Equality Bill 2023, known as the Equality Bill, and Conversion Practices Prohibition Bill NSW 2023 can make this possible.

Hundreds of laws in NSW contain discrimination and harm against our community. Equality Australia audited hundreds of pieces of legislation to feed into the development of the NSW Equality Bill.

It would take decades to change each law bit by bit – these bills would modernise NSW’s laws in one go.
