Protect our Libraries in New south wales

When Cumberland City Council banned books about same-sex parenting from its local libraries, it sparked outrage across Australia and around the world.
The ban sent a harmful message to local rainbow families that they aren't welcome in their own community.
It also undermined the fundamental purpose of public libraries — to provide free access to information and ensure everyone can see themselves reflected on the shelves.
We came together to successfully reverse the ban. Now, the NSW Government is moving to ensure this kind of censorship can never happen again in public libraries across the state.
Public libraries must remain places of inclusion, learning and safety — not political interference or discrimination.
We call on all NSW parliamentarians to support this bill and protect our libraries from censorship and hate.

Laws across Australia currently allow religious schools to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people, and people who are pregnant, divorced or in de facto relationships.
Our federal laws are outdated and out of step with the Australia we live in today. To help us change these laws, we want to hear about your experiences of discrimination in religious schools across Australia.
You can tell us your story confidentially and anonymously, and we will only share your story with your consent.
