Jacob’s background is in operations, campaigning, and urban planning. Before working at Equality Australia, he worked for federal MPs in Canberra and has over ten years’ experience in professional politics and grassroots organising.

While in Canberra, Jacob managed election campaigns in the 2016 and 2019 federal elections. During the campaign for marriage equality, he was the ACT director of the ‘yes’ campaign recording the highest ‘yes’ vote in the country.

From that role he went on to lead the creation of Canberra’s annual pride street festival, Yes!Fest, which now takes place on the anniversary of the marriage survey every year.  Jacob is actively involved in HIV and urban planning advocacy.
