Every South Australian deserves to live, work and study, with dignity and respect.

But loopholes in South Australian law still allow religious organisations to fire, expel or refuse service to LGBTIQ+ people.

The South Australian government has consulted on a draft bill – the Equal Opportunity (Religious Bodies) Amendment Bill 2020 (SA).

It’s a positive step forward, but it still fails to protect LGBTIQ+ teachers and other staff from being fired by religious schools and fails to ensure that LGBTIQ+ people can access any service provided to the public.

With a state election around the corner, we need to ensure both that whoever forms government has committed to protecting LGBTIQ+ South Australians from discrimination.

Sign the petition demanding the South Australian government and opposition commit to strengthening laws to protect LGBTIQ+ people from discrimination.
