Everyone deserves to live, work and study with dignity and respect.

But currently, Victorian laws still allow religious institutions to discriminate against people because they are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, a single parent, in a de-facto relationship, or even if they are pregnant.

The Andrews government has introduced a bill to change this by narrowing carve-outs from anti-discrimination laws for religious organisations including schools. It’s not perfect, but if passed, the bill will be a huge step forward for fairness and equality in Victoria.

We know the Australian Christian Lobby and others are campaigning hard to try to undermine support for the reforms and to water down the new laws.

We need to make sure there’s strong, bipartisan support for the reform. Will you write to your MP and ask them to support these important new laws?
