Our national census has to reflect the diversity of our nation, and when it doesn’t, we all lose. Accurate data means no Australians get left behind when planning our healthcare and social services programs.

LGBTIQ+ Australians still have significant mental health and wellbeing disparities compared to other Australians. The best way to improve those outcomes is ensuring that our leaders consider the diversity of our community when creating policies that affect our lives.

It’s time for sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics questions to be added to the census.

We are joining health experts and community organisations calling on the Australian Bureau of Statistics to ensure that LGBTIQ+ people are included in the Census.

Tell the ABS to stop leaving LGBTIQ+ people behind, and #CountUsIn2021
